spain's grand prix

                                         HISTORY OF SPANISH GRAND PRIX :

The spanish grand prix is the only grand prix that changed between two cricuits every year. They inculude the the Circuit de Catalunya in Barcelona and the Valencia Street Circuit in Valencia, Spain. This circuit was introduced in 1913 but was not used for the formula one race. The spanish grand prix was introduced to racing in 1923 and it was won by albert divo. 2012 marked the 22nd time barcelona has hosted the spanish grand prix it was won by pastor maldonado. Micehal shumacher has the highest number of wins at the catalunyan grand prix with a total of six victories.

                              ABOUT CATALUNYA CIRCUIT :

Since 1991 the spanish grand prix has been held in catalunya. Its race date takes place on the 13th of may 2012. There are 66 laps in this circuit and normally take place at a dry, calm weather. Catalunya is located to the north of the city ( barcelona ) and it's population is currently 3 million.

RELIGION:

Catalunya has four main religions which include roman catholic, protestant, jewish and muslim. Roman Catholic is the most popular earning 85 percent of the population. Protestant is second with 11 percent. Jewish is third with 4 percent and last is muslim with only two percent.

DID YOU KNOW :

The catalunyan circuit was built as part of a development programme for the 1992 olympic games. The track was eventually finished intime for the 1991 formula one grand prix which led nigel mansell with his 21st grand prix victory.

WEATHER:

Catalunya has an average temperature of 16 degrees. It receives 2500 hours of sunlight per year and contains a moderate rainfaill type of temperature. This climate contributes an atmosphere of bright, warm sunny days with also warm nights.
